Your Galaxy phone could look inferior next month – surprise Samsung news exposed

Samsung is no stranger to holding events in the summer months with the Korean technology giant usually using this showcase to refresh its lineup of foldable and flipable phones. Previous years have always seen the grand unveiling of these devices taking place in August but it appears that the latest batch of updates will be unveiled much earlier in 2023.

A post on its Australian newsroom, which has since been removed, appears to have confirmed that it will be holding one of its famous Unpacked events next month.

Along with revealing that July is the chosen time, the update also says that Samsung will be heading home this year with the keynote looking certain to take place in Seoul, South Korea.

That’s a big change from previous Unpacked events which have usually taken place in areas such as London and New York.

So what will be revealed in July?

The post has exposed that Samsung’s foldables will be getting a refresh with it looking certain that the company will reboot its popular Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold smartphones.

These call makers have long led the pack when it comes to flexible screens but a number of rival brands, including Motorola, Oppo and Huawei, have all launched bendy call makers in recent months which feature thinner designs and bigger displays.

Samsung clearly won’t want to get left behind and we can expect some major updates to arrive on these devices.

It’s currently unclear why Samsung has now removed the post and when it will officially confirm the July Unpacked date but hopefully, we will have more news in the coming days so watch this space.

“The foldable category embodies Samsung’s philosophy of delivering innovation that pushes boundaries to reshape the future of mobile experiences,” TM Roh, Samsung’s president and head of its mobile experience business, said in a now removed statement.

“Hosting Unpacked in Seoul holds great significance both as it is a city that has become an emerging epicenter of innovation and culture as well as the foldable category.”
