Police believe a woman who was stabbed to death in broad daylight in London yesterday may have been attacked at random. The 31-year-old was on the phone to her grandmother, who heard a “terrible scream” when she was attacked near Brixton’s O2 Academy.
Police have launched a manhunt following the death, and confirmed that the woman is believed not to have known her attacker.
No arrests have yet been made.Â
The force reportedly says a random attack is “one possibility”.
The woman was found with serious stab wounds after emergency services rushed to the scene at 4pm yesterday.
A blue police tent was put up in the area and medical kits, a police officer’s hat, and blue plastic gloves were strewn across the cobbles.
A resident said the victim, believed to be of Ghanaian descent, had been on her way to the flat she shares with her mother, father, brother and sister for a birthday celebration.
