Rishi Sunak has said Sir Keir Starmer’s plan for the economy would leave the UK “dependent on dictators and autocrats”.
Speaking at the Northern Research Group conference, the Prime Minister claimed a Starmer government would be a “disaster for Britain”.
He said: “They don’t want to ban all oil and gas, they just want to ban British oil and gas.
“Labour’s plan would make us dependent on dictators and autocrats.
“And it tells you all you need to know about Keir Starmer’s judgment.
He added: “A Starmer government would be a disaster for Britain and to the north and we owe it to the country to not let that happen.
“I know the secure future that we want. It is one where every part of the UK helps drive forward growth.”
