Queen Camilla, 75, and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, 83, married in 1973 and divorced in 1995.
The following year, the current Queen Consort moved into Ray Mill House in Wiltshire, an £850,000 home in Reybridge near Lacock.
Camilla still spends vast amounts of time on the property, despite being married to King Charles since 2005.
When Prince William becomes King, it is likely that Camilla will continue to keep her private property as she will not be the mother of the King.
Deepa Mehta-Sagar, the founder of Area Decor LLC, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to explain why Camilla has a deep affection for her personal residence.

She said: “Based on pictures of Ray Mill House that are available online, the Queen Consort’s private residence appears to have a luxurious yet inviting feel.
“The estate is spread over a sprawling 17 acres and the home has vast garden areas, an outdoor swimming pool and stables, making this home apt for a nature lover.”
Queen Camilla is in fact a countryside lover, as she and King Charles spend lots of time in the Gloucestershire countryside at the monarch’s country home, Highgrove House.
The property expert told Express.co.uk about Queen Camilla’s interiors and how they “spell opulence”.
Deepa claimed: “The interiors appear to be interspersed with wooden detailing, expensive paintings, and high ceilings, all of which spell opulence and are befitting of a historic home.
“This blends in perfectly with the neutral colour scheme which dominates areas such as the sitting room and the dining room, and in turn adds warmth to the space.”
According to Deepa, Camilla’s private home honours “nature’s beauty” on the inside and in the gardens.
She explained: “There are enormous windows in the sitting room that allow one to take in nature’s beauty.
“From photographs, it almost appears as if the room blends into the gardens beyond.”
For Queen Camilla’s 75th birthday last summer, Kate Middleton took exclusive photographs of the Queen Consort to celebrate the occasion in the gardens of Ray Mill House.
Deepa added: “The lush gardens of Ray Mill House are the backdrop of the recently published images of the Queen Consort, clicked by Kate Middleton.
“The picture speaks a thousand words as the Queen Consort, Camilla Parker Bowles, looks so relaxed, and in her element.”
The property expert added some context behind Camilla’s decision to purchase Ray Mill House.
She said: “Camilla Parker Bowles purchased Ray Mill House, a historic stone manor, in the mid-90s after her first marriage ended.”
It is likely that the Queen Consort will move here permanently after Prince William takes the throne, according to the expert, claiming it “would only be natural”.
Deepa suggested: “Given the many years it has stayed with her, it would be only natural that the Queen Consort would have many cherished memories associated with this home.”
