Prince George owns surprising piece of land near King Charles's Romanian holiday home

At the time, Count Tibor explained: “If we sent flowers they would wilt, so this is a symbolic gift. Wildflowers are fragile like newborn babies.

“This gift will protect this area and contribute to raising public awareness so that rare flowers can be protected.”

Despite being given the meadow back in 2013 George has not yet had a chance to visit Romania, although Charles fell in love with the country after visiting in 1998.

The King often spends walking holidays in the Romanian countryside after buying a farmhouse in the village of Viscri.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Charles would be taking his first holiday as King to his country retreat in Romania, which he bought in 2006.

When the King is not there his home, known as the Blue House, is rented out to the public and features seven double bedrooms with en-suites, a drawing and dining room, a sitting room and a kitchen.

There is a rustic feel to the property with high ceilings, antique Transylvanian furniture and no televisions or radios in order to create an atmosphere “of peace and tranquillity”.

Charles will be making the trip without his wife Queen Camilla, as she will be staying at her home Ray Mill in Wiltshire which she bought following her divorce from Andrew Parker-Bowles in 1994.

This week the royal couple made a surprise two-day visit to Northern Ireland and the King’s choice of sunglasses saw him dubbed a “royal rockstar”.

On Thursday Charles and Camilla spent an hour at Enniskillen Castle meeting community groups and were entertained by Irish and Ulster-Scots dancers.

They were greeted by the High Sherriff for Co Fermanagh Noelle McAlinden and Fermanagh and Omagh council vice chairman Allan Rainey while the Caritas Chamber Choir serenaded them.

It was the King’s sunglasses that stole the show, as royal fans took to Twitter to express their admiration for his fashion choice.

Twitter user @NorthernEostre posted: “The Royal Rockstar is in town!”

One person responded: “The German media called him ‘King cool’.”

A third account added: “I can’t get over the stylish sunglasses.”
