Dr Matthew Noble, UK Medical Director at Babylon Health, said symptoms of pancreatic cancer can be minimal, vague and non-specific at first. They can also come and go, which makes diagnosis difficult.
He advised: “Many of the early symptoms of pancreatic cancer, including indigestion, back and abdominal pain, are similar to the symptoms of other less serious conditions, such as IBS, reflux and muscular pain.
“The challenge is that these conditions are very common, and pancreatic cancer remains relatively rare, so the chances are that anyone with these symptoms probably has another cause for them.”
