One of the biggest stars from Netflix’s popular comedy-drama Orange Is the New Black, Uzo Aduba, announced her first pregnancy at the 2023 Tony Awards last night.
The 43-year-old, who played the now infamous and beloved Suzanne ‘Crazy Eyes’ Warren character, revealed that she’s expecting her first child with her husband, Robert Sweeting.
As Aduba took to the red carpet and posed for photos, she unbuttoned her orange Christian Siriano suit jacket, to show off her baby bump before confirming the news to People magazine.

An unnamed rep told the publication: “The happy couple is over the moon about their growing family and are excited to be parents.”
Uzo wore oversized matching pants as she completed the look with David Webb jewelry, Alexandre Birman shoes, and a Judith Leiber clutch.
As her red carpet photos went viral on social media, Aduba confirmed the news on Instagram to her 2.2 million followers, with a sweet clip of her holding up a baby grow as she exclaimed: “Ta Da!”
“What a blessing. My husband Robert and I are so happy to enter this next chapter together as parents. I am beyond excited. I get to be someone’s Mommy!
“I know as the three of us continue to grow, our only, ONLY goal will be to love you, little one. My goodness. Look what God has done.”
Fans quickly responded to the news in comments congratulating her on the news.
Matt McGorry who starred as John Bennett wrote: “Congrats my friend!!!!”
As Tasha ‘Taystee’ Jefferson’s Danielle Brooks added: “Congratulations Uzo.”
