Many people point to the head wound on the back of her head, suggesting she was deliberately attacked and thrown into the river.

Her former flatmate, Randy Wicker, said Johnson may have been hallucinating or jumped into the river to escape harassers, but she never intended to take her own life.

As heard in the documentary, several people came forward to the police, believing they saw Johnson being harassed by a group of men.
