But as Williams left he tried to take the bike.

Davies knocked him out but continued to batter him as his daughter, nine, screamed: “Daddy, that’s enough!”

The dad-of-one died of brain swelling and cardiac arrest three days later.

Davies, of Aberaman, South Wales, was jailed for nine years after admitting manslaughter at Merthyr Tydfil crown court.

Prosecutor Jonathan Rees said: “It was a punishment beating in the presence of children.

“There was quite a difference in size between the two men – Davies had no difficulty in overpowering Luke Williams.”

Luke’s mum Paula Jenkins said: “Luke was no angel but he was trying to turn his life around.

“Every day I wake up in a nightmare – I just want my son back.”
