Lily Allen and David Harbour confirmed rumours that they had tied the knot in Las Vegas this week, with photographs from their big day on Instagram. The singer, 35, wore a Sixties-inspired Dior dress to her nuptials and was pictured next to an Elvis impersonator, who officiated the service. The ‘Smile’ singer had a number of high-profile relationships prior to dating the Netflix ‘Stranger Things’ actor, 45. In one candid reflection, she revealed how she thought she had “grown-up” and was permanently changed after a break-up.
Allen is believed to have met her future-husband at an event in London, in August last year, and since then made a number of public declarations of her affection for TV star Harbour online.
They were spotted holding hands in the UK and then were snapped kissing in New York before they took to social media to profess their love for one another.
Prior to the relationship, Allen had dated several other people after her marriage to Sam Cooper, who she has two daughters with, ended in 2016.
After her break-up from rapper Meridian Dan, the singer told the podcast ‘How to Fail with Elizabeth Day’ about her struggles to remain single.
During the 2019 episode, Allen admitted that while it was difficult she finally felt that she had learned to enjoy her own company.
She said: “I think the fact I haven’t called him and been like, ‘Hey, wanna come round for a cuddle?’ means that it’s big for me.
“Because ordinarily when things get difficult I do need to have somebody around to share those problems.
Her confessions came eight months before she started dating Harbour and since they made their relationship official the pair have gushed about each other online.
In one post from November, Harbour described that Allen had a “stunningly beautiful butt” and was “so gorgeous it was an outrage”.
On Monday (Sept 7), the pair got married and after their nuptials celebrated at the US fast food chain In-N-Out Burger.
On Instagram, Harbour wrote that “the king himself” married “the people’s princess” to her “devoted, low born but kind credit card holder” in a “beautiful ceremony”.
He continued: “Lit by the ashen skies courtesy of a burning state miles away in the midst of a global pandemic.
“Refreshments were served at a small reception following.”
