CANADIAN comedian Katherine Ryan, 37, plays the lead in new Netflix sitcom The Duchess.
Here, The mum of one reveals the effects lockdown had on her sex life with husband Bobby Kootstra.
What scares you the most?
I’m really scared of anything happening to my daughter Violet, 11. I’ll be that strange parent who will drive her to the disco and wait outside for four hours.
What is your favourite word?
I say authentic and authenticity a lot.
What is your worst habit?
I pick things. Like if I believe a freckle on my arm is a mosquito bite, I have to squeeze it.
Who or what is the love of your life?

Who would you invite to a dinner party?
I would invite no one. I don’t want to do all those dishes and you can’t be sure when they’re going to leave.
Who makes you laugh the most?
Roisin Conaty. She’s one of those people that’s just constantly funny every second.
How often do you have sex?
Pre-lockdown, I would say four times a week. During lockdown, zero or once a week because my daughter’s like a spy.
All-time favourite movie?
Now And Then.
What was your fave TV show as a child?
What’s your earliest memory?
Being at my grandparents’ house in Ireland when I was a year old. All I remember is the red and brown carpet.
Which public figure do you most admire?
I love Meghan Markle. She just gets better every day.
What good do you think will come out of lockdown?
I think it will offer clarity to people who were perhaps focusing on the wrong things or working too hard. And there are a lot of men getting to know their wives and kids for the first time.
What song would you have played at your funeral?
Something really inappropriate such as Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-A-Lot.
If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
I don’t think women had any business being alive before now. We had a terrible experience.
What’s the worst pain you’ve experienced?
Giving birth was not fun and I had no drugs because I believed the nurse on the phone when she told me I wasn’t in labour. I walked into the hospital at 10cm dilated.
What’s been your greatest achievement?
Living a rebellious life and having a career in the creative industry. I just don’t think anyone saw that coming.
Who is your celebrity crush?
What is top of your bucket list?
I’d like to go to Iceland.
What do you think happens when we die?
You can choose from all the people you’ve known, and you can put your energy into them. You can’t put too much energy into any one person, it has to be balanced.
Most famous person on your phone?
Lena Dunham. Girls was very formative for me and I never thought she would be on my phone.

What are your best and worst qualities?
I am very active, so if there’s a problem, I do something. At the same time, that’s my worst quality, because you do have to learn to be passive sometimes.
