It can sometimes be tricky to know how to apply makeup to mature skin, but one beauty expert has some tips and tricks to help you feel more confident and look years young.
Selena Marchand a professional make-up artist, recently posted a step-by-step guide on TikTok revealing her how she shaves the years off with just a little bit of make-up
Selena said the first step was to get some brow powder and an angle brush to begin filling in your eyebrows.
The make-up expert said “make sure to go one shade lighter than your hair colour” when buying eyebrow powder.

She then explained the best way to apply eyeshadow. While applying makeup to a model, Selena said: “Take some bronzer and put it right into your crease so it is pretty high up.
“This is really going to open up your eyes as they become more hooded.”
Selena then moved on to the best way to apply foundation and concealer, and recommended the IT cosmetic CC cream which she said is “great for mature skin”.
Selena’s tip for applying the CC cream is to “mix it with a little bit of cream” if you feel you do not need all of the coverage.
She then added that her ultimate tip for applying foundation is to always use a makeup brush rather than using your fingers.
Selena said: “This way it is going to give you a much more airbrushed and flawless finish to your foundation”
While applying concealer around your eyes, Selena said it was important to set it with a translucent powder as this will “reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
For the next step, Selena applied blush and had an easy way to make sure you are applying it to the right part of your cheek.
Selena said: “When you’re applying your blush, make sure you are putting it on the apple of your cheek.”
While applying, she said: “Opt towards the temple so we’re not bringing it back towards the ear, we’re going up.
Lastly, Selena applied lipstick to the model and used the ‘Trust Your Gut’ shade from Maybelline New York.
She said: “Adding a little bit of colour to your lips to super pretty, especially if everything else is really soft. It just makes you look really fresh and awake.”
Selena then showed the finished look of the model, who was smiling and looked happy with Selena’s work.
