Horror as girl aged one falls from window of a house in Essex

Police are investigating how a one-year-old child fell from the window of a house.

The girl remains in hospital, where her condition is being assessed, after the fall on Thursday evening (June 8).

Police were called at 7:31pm to reports that a child had fallen from the window of a property in Ilford, east London. 

This assessment will take several days.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.” 

No one has been arrested.

Police would not say whether the child fell from a window on the ground or first floor.

“Sorry, we’re not specifying,” the spokesman added.

A local, in the area at the time said: “There were lots of police and ambulance crews outside and the air ambulance landed. We initially thought someone had been stabbed or something. I hope the little girl is OK.”
