Prince William may be a huge celebrity himself – and next in line to the British throne – but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his “fan” moments. Body language expert Judi James spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the moment the Prince met superstar Nicole Kidman.
The Royal Family are exceptionally good at handling whatever is thrown at them.
Composed, calm and collected, they are very rarely unprepared and know just how to behave in public.
However, Judi noted that just like the rest of us, the royals are occasionally “caught-off-guard”, leading to some funny and relatable moments.
Judi said: “Royals are famously stoic and unflappable in public but every so often we get a glimpse of a different side to those traits when they are caught off-guard, showing a very alternative set of body language responses.”

Prince William has lived his whole life under the royal spotlight and an expert when it comes to meeting new people from all walks of life.
From children to the elderly to huge stars, the Prince is well versed in meeting and greeting.
But the expert noted one moment in 2011 where the usually controlled Prince got a little starstruck.
On July 9, 2011, William attended the BAFTA Brits To Watch Event at the Belasco Theatre in California.
Kate Middleton was also pictured chatting to Nicole at the event but had her hands clasped to her clutch bag rather than making any extreme gestures.
William’s “fan” behaviour did not end when he met actress Nicole. Judi stated: “William has shown the odd glimpse of some fan-boy behaviour when he’s been meeting Hollywood A-listers at red carpet events.”
Most recently, on May 19, 2022, the Prince appeared “rather in awe” of ‘Top Gun’ hero Tom Cruise at the UK premier of Top Gun: Maverick.
The pair were snapped laughing and chatting as they walked along the red carpet.
