Emotional Andi Peters interrupts GMB with BLM speech and tells kids watching at home ‘you could do this job’

ANDI Peters became emotional as he interrupted today’s Good Morning Britain with a plea for black kids watching.

The legendary presenter is one of the only black hosts on the show and wanted to tell children watching that they too could do his job.

The presenter became emotional as he interrupted the show

He said: “I just want to say something as I can as one of the only black people on this show it is so important that we all keep talking.

“It really is. People meet me in the street and ask me how I feel about it.

“We’ve all started this conversation and one of the best things about Good Morning Britain is that we talk about it – we’re not brushing it under the rug, we’re not tip-toeing around, we are talking about it.

“Every day on this programme we talking about it and it’s really important that we do.”

Andi received an emotional reaction from viewers

Becoming emotional, Andi then added a direct message to all black children watching the show. 

He said: Every black kid watching right now – you could do this job.

“Anyway, let me tell you about this prize… Sorry, I felt that I needed to say it. I shouldn’t apologise, I mustn’t apologise – I just wanted to say it.”

Viewers at home were moved by his words – with them flocking to comment and send their support on Twitter.

One wrote: “Andi, don’t apologise. Well done, and what an inspiration speech. Keep talking.”

A second said: “@andipeters yes!!!! Don’t apologise!! You could see how important that was for you to say. I remember watching you on Live and Kicking when I was little 🙂 really important representation!!”
