Chas (played by Lucy Pargeter) has always been fiercely protective of her loved ones on Emmerdale, especially when it comes to who they choose to be in a relationship with. Since the tragic death of Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) last year, the Woolpack owner has become somewhat of a mother figure to young Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper). Therefore, hearing of her little cousin’s recent affair with Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) has left the landlady fairly uneasy given the latter is actually still married. With history repeating itself, could the ITV soap stalwart interfere and as a result, leave the infamous clan up in arms over her secret plan?
Belle has quite the past with married men, having found herself embroiled in an affair with former villager Dr Jermaine Bailey (Michah Balfour), who had no idea she was just a teenager at the time.
When their secret became public knowledge, various members of the Dingle clan had different ways of dealing with the situation.
Whereas older brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) beat the GP to a pulp, Chas and her cousin Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) decided to give him a job when he became employed for sleeping with a patient.
What’s different this time is Jamie and his estranged wife Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) have a child together; Millie Tate (Willow Bell).
With Belle’s lover also persistent to track down his missing spouse, the landlady issues a warning to her cousin, but could this all be part of a plan which could spectacularly backfire?

Recent scenes on the weeknight serial drama have seen Belle and Jamie acting more like a couple, having had their dalliances publicly exposed by Andrea over a month ago.
Upcoming episodes will see the young Dingle member’s period of happiness put into question when she receives a phone call from her lover who is still on the hunt for his wife.
Overhearing the conversation, it’s not long before Chas swoops in and tells her cousin her latest relationship could all end in tears like her past endeavours with love.
This warning leaves the vet with food for thought as she wonders whether her partner could still be harbouring feelings for the mother of his daughter given how much effort he is putting in to trying to find her.
They could reprimand Chas for not letting Belle make her own mistakes as she is older now than when she was with Jermaine.
However, the landlady could still put up a fight, feeling she has to be the mother figure her cousin needs during this time.
As a result, could her meddling see her push her loved ones away and leave her an outcast to the infamous clan for being so interfering?
Viewers will have to stay tuned to see if the pub owner wrecks havoc for her cousins, but actress Eden has spoken out about her character’s future with Jamie.
The soap star, who plays Belle, said: “I think it’s hard, he has a wife and child and a mother who sticks her nose in and hates Belle and Belle wants commitment and a happy healthy relationship.
“I don’t know if these two will ever balance out, with everyone happy and getting along! So goodness knows!”
Could this be a possible hint the end is nigh for the young lovers, or will they take on these hurdles together to become the new power couple of the village?
Will Jamie become an honorary member of the most infamous family in the soap’s history by marrying his mistress?
Emmerdale continues Monday at 7pm on ITV.
