EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning set for explosive exit as Jake Wood leaves soap

Since the soap was put back on air back in September following a two-month hiatus, Max and Ian have become closer, with the former defending his business partner when Dotty Cotton (Millie Zero) accused him of killing Denny Rickman (Bleu Landau).

However, the father-of-four will discover he has been double-crossed and will seek revenge on his neighbour.

It’s not yet been confirmed if this is the beginning of the character’s exit storyline, but with Ian also set to make a temporary exit, could the two be linked?

As well as an affair with Stacey and the death of his son Bradley, the beloved Walford resident has also suffered more tragic loss over the years.

EastEnders continues Thursday at 7:35pm on BBC One.
