Ms Plungiene is just one of several people who went missing amid the extreme weather.
Another rescue mission was launched in Brighton, East Sussex after a person, believed by locals to be a teenager, was swept into the sea near the city’s famous Palace Pier.
The incident occurred in the afternoon, prompting a frantic search by lifeboats and the coastguard helicopter along the shoreline. The operation continued well into the evening, with no news yet on the fate of the missing person.
