The figures are now expected to be brought in line with Scotland and Northern Ireland, where deaths are only counted towards official records if they occur 28 days after a person tests positive.
Meanwhile Aberdeen has now entered a second lockdown, with pubs closing at 5pm last night following a fresh coronavirus outbreak in the city.
All indoor and outdoor hospitality venues in Aberdeen shut yesterday evening after 54 new coronavirus cases were linked to 20 pubs and restaurants in the area.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus death toll rose to 46,364, bringing the total number of cases to 307,184.
