King Charles is not one for public displays of emotion, according to body language expert Judi James. However, his brave face appeared to falter on one particular occasion with Queen Camila.
Charles has lived his entire life in the royal spotlight remaining stoic and poised, rarely showing signs of experiencing fear or angst.
Judi stated: “Charles has proved so many times that personal bravery is in his DNA.
“From getting shot at on stage in Australia to getting pelted by eggs in Scotland, he tends to refuse to show a fear reaction in public or even to look mildly rattled.”
However, there was one instance over a decade ago where the King did let his raw emotions show.

And the expert suggested that the presence of his wife allowed him to do so.
It was not Camilla and Charles who experienced a “tense moment” themselves – there was no spat or squabble between the pair – but more experiencing a tense situation together.
Judi observed: “Camilla may be Charles’s Achilles heel when it comes to displays of tension or even fear.
“Both the couple’s body language suggested off-the-scale levels of both on the night in 2010 that their car was attacked by protesters en route to the Royal Variety Show.”
The expert continued: “Rioting had broken out over London and when their car was stalled in traffic in Regent St, Charles and Camilla appeared to be a sitting target.”
Typically stoic and unflappable, this instance provoked a rare outburst of fear and panic in Charles and his wife.
“We can see both Charles and Camilla’s mouths open in shock and fear here, and Charles clutching Camilla’s fingers in what looks like a bid to reassure her.
“One account said Camilla later lay on the floor of the car while Charles sat bravely in his seat, waving.”

Following the Queen’s death, Charles experienced two ‘Man versus Pen’ battles.
In the first instant, the King struggled to find room to sign a document because of a pen on the desk, and showed mild annoyance when asking someone to remove it.
In the second, Charles’ pen leaked which promoted him to lament that he couldn’t “bare this bloody thing”.
But aside from these two moments in a profoundly difficult personal time, the King is typically one to avoid looking even “mildly rattled” in public.
