Charles and Harry had 'meaningful' talks before Duke agreed to attend Coronation

The Sun has revealed that prior to agreeing to attend the Coronation, Prince Harry had a deep and meaningful conversation with King Charles. Following the Duke of Sussex’s volatile claims in his book Spare and Netflix documentary series, sources have said the father and son have spoken and there is a “willingness and wanting to mend on both sides”.

Despite the brothers’ estrangement, Charles spoke on Friday of his “immense pride” at sons Prince William and Harry.

It was confirmed on Wednesday (April 12) that while the Duke will attend the ceremony, he will not be joined by his wife Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet, who will remain in Montecito, California.

Harry has not seen his family since the release of his explosive memoir and docu-series.

He made multiple claims in the book, including being physically assaulted by “arch-nemesis” brother William, begged father Charles not to marry “wicked stepmother” Camilla, and wrote about the rift between the Princess of Wales and Meghan over “baby brain” comments.

Sources have revealed that the father and son had spoken for the first time in months about the invitation. However, he is yet to speak to William.

There was also reportedly conversation with Buckingham Palace prior to Harry accepting the invitation about the couple’s security.

Charles is “happy” with his son’s decision, according to insiders, and “understands” Meghan opting to remain in the US with Lilibet and Archie – who will turn four on the same day as the King’s crowning.

Harry wanted to make it to the event to show “support for his father”, according to sources.

Marking the “importance and significance” of the ceremony is said to have been a driver behind the Duke’s decision.

Meghan is believed to support her husband’s decision, with the only reason behind her non-attendance being the clash with Archie’s birthday.
