Criminals from the famed Mexican drug gang Los Zetas, one of the most deadly in the nation, have been eliminated thanks to the courageous vigilante. A mother has tracked down and disguised herself to take down the cartel members guilty of her daughter’s murder.
Like in the hit movie Taken, Miriam Rodriguez set out on a relentless search and found and confronted each of her daughter’s killers.
Miriam was instrumental in the capture of ten criminals linked to the deadly Los Zetas drug organisation in Mexico. It is commonly acknowledged that this cartel is among the most hazardous criminal enterprises in the nation.
After her daughter’s sad death, Miriam had three years to track down nearly every remaining member of the gang that had kidnapped Karen and demanded a ransom.
All this took place in a region where even the local authorities are reluctant to take cartel members to task and pursue justice, reports the Daily Star.
The New York Times reported in December 2020 that Miriam’s untimely end was eventually caused by her unrelenting pursuit. She was killed after gunmen broke into her home in San Fernando, Mexico.
Tamaulipas governor Francisco Garca Cabeza de Vaca tweeted his sympathies and resolve in the wake of this tragic incident.
According to The Guardian, he declared that the state government will “will not allow the death of Miriam Rodríguez to be one statistic more”.

Miriam went to tremendous measures to obtain information in her unrelenting quest of justice for her daughter’s killers.
She changed the way she looked by cutting and colouring her hair, and she pretended to be someone else—a health worker or an election official, for example.
Miriam was able to learn the names and addresses of the participants using these guises.
She cleverly concocted justifications to meet with the relatives of these people in order to deepen her study. She skillfully engaged them and gleaned information from them that helped solve the riddle of her daughter’s condition.
One of the suspects in the incident was working as a street seller selling flowers when Miriam managed to capture him.
This person, known as “The Florist,” turned to selling roses to make ends meet. He tried to get away after Miriam skillfully located him but the Miriam managed to wrestle him to the ground while threatening to shoot him in the throat if he offered any resistance.
Miriam has become a hero in her hometown as a result of her valiant efforts against the cartel.
In recognition of her outstanding bravery, her town has erected a bronze plaque in her honour in the main square.
Miriam had vowed solemnly to her second daughter, Azalea, that she would not give up searching for Karen’s kidnappers until she found them.

Like Neeson’s character, Miriam sets out on a trip in order to find her daughter’s captors and exact justice and retribution.
